Mobile Phone Policy

 

The use of mobile phones at school is highly disruptive and can be distressing to other students.

 

Evidence shows that cyber bullying, i.e. taking photos, sending SMS messages, etc. via mobile phones is psychologically cruel and is evident in our local community.

 

S.B.P.S understands and supports those parents who provide mobile phones to their children for safety reasons when travelling to and from school.

 

Upon arrival at school, all mobile phones must be turned off and handed in to either the front office or classroom teacher.

 

No responsibility will be taken by S.B.P.S staff for loss or damage to mobile phones brought to school, stored or carried in students’ personal belongings during the day.

 

If student contact is required during school hours, parents/caregivers can contact the school office on 9528 3680. A message will be conveyed immediately to the child concerned.
