Year 1 Autumn Walk

  • Date
  • May 09,2019

  • Time
  • 10:00:am - 02:00:pm

A free “community walk” excursion has been arranged for all Year One children on the above date.  This is the second in a series of excursions which will enable the children to study the history and geography of our local area.

We will leave at around 10.00 am and will return by 2.00 pm.  The walk will include a visit to the Safety Bay/Shoalwater Bay foreshores to study our local islands and rocky outcrops and to discover our shipwreck history.  We will spend time on the beach studying the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park. The children will enjoy a play on the grass and equipment along the foreshore.

FOOD AND DRINKS:  Please provide your child with a bottle of water which has been clearly labelled with their name.  Please pack your child’s lunch.  (Lunch orders will not be available on the excursion).  We will be having an early lunch at school before we leave. Please also provide a separately packed, small snack for your child to take with them on the excursion.

DRESS:  School uniforms, hats, enclosed footwear, and warm clothing must be worn.  Please apply sunscreen to your child in the morning.

SUPERVISION:  The children will be supervised by teachers, assistants and helpers.  First aid equipment, mobile phones and emergency numbers will be carried in case of illness or emergency.  Teachers can be contacted via the school on 9591 6800.

If you would like your child to attend, please return the permission slip (to their teacher) by 2 May 2019.  Parent helpers are needed.  Please be aware that this excursion is not suitable for younger siblings.  If you can assist, please let your child’s teacher know.
